ABOUT

About Me...

This all boils down to my refusal to accept 'what if' or 'if only'. Now how I GOT to this point...

I was born and raised in Kansas, am part of a large family, played basketball, & always enjoyed the idea of art. I drew & painted a little, but was never particularly great at either. Shortly after high school I really started watching a lot of films and discovered just how much I loved the artistic process of filmmaking - & especially found the idea of acting to be endlessly intriguing.

Back then I had the mindset of "Films aren't made in the Midwest, so find a 9-5 that pays the bills and get on with your life"; but eventually I got to the point where that was something I just couldn't accept without even an attempt. I soon discovered there was an indie film and commercial industry in Kansas City and began studying & training, auditioning, and just plain old learning on the job.

I was fortunate to not only be cast in small roles from the beginning, but to hold many crew positions, which immediately gave me a better understanding of what everyone brings to the table. That wide variety of experience also lead to opportunities to produce & direct, which not only challenged me as a storyteller, but also came full-circle to compliment my acting process. It was incredibly rewarding to have found an artistic outlet that I actually did have more of a talent for than my occasional doodling back in the day!

This new-found passion grew into a fire for my craft. Beginning with indie film, I devoted my life to that & then branched out into network television, & soon began booking roles on big budget features as well.

My first co-star on From Dusk Til Dawn, the unique experience with Scott Frank & Merritt Glover in Godless, working with Tom Hanks & Paul Greengrass on News of the World, joining my absolute favorite universe alongside Vince Gilligan & Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad...each turn small or big along the way in my journey has provided lifelong memories & invaluable experiences. And I couldn't be more grateful that I decided it was at least worth a shot!

To wrap all of this up, I would just say I chose to pursue my dream because life is too short to fold to fear or settle for 'the norm'. I don't aim to put down any way of living life, because sometimes there's nothing more honorable than working that arduous 9-5 to support those that you love.

But not everyone even gets to discover what they're passionate about, much less actually get to turn it into a reality. So if you have done the former, I feel like we owe it to ourselves to pursue the later until you can pursue it no longer.

It's such a cliche, but it's so true - two of the saddest phrases in the English language have got to be "IF ONLY..." & "WHAT IF..."

Based In...

Los Angeles. But truly wherever the next set is.

Off Set...

I still love playing a little basketball, time on the water, travelling, & watching the main three American sports. Will always follow my Royals, Chiefs, & KSU Wildcats. I enjoy drawing & other works of art, & the challenge of building my company Breakthrough Reels is a truly fulfilling one as we help actors achieve their dreams as well!

I particularly like the LotR series or anything by my favorite directors; am fascinated by stand-up comedy, thought I don't know that I'll ever do it myself; & frequently devour all over again Breaking Bad, The Office, The Wire, Arrested Development - it's hard to beat the incredible storybuilding you can do in episodic format! Spending time with my family & oldest friends whenever I possibly can (not often enough) will always be a favorite.

Finally - ACTING.

I've always been extremely empathetic, even when I wish that I wasn't, but it has been incredible to discover how that was actually a gift just waiting to be put to use in what I love doing. That innate part of me it turns out allows me to forge almost immediate connections with my characters, allowing me to bring them to life in new & authentic ways.

My life's drive, no question.
